MPA Environmental Science and Policy, Fall 2003 Final workshop briefings.

This past Wednesday, October 22, 2003 the students in the Master of Public Administration Program in Environmental Science and Policy presented their Midterm Briefings for the Workshop in Applied Earth Systems Management II. Our students have been learning about three pieces of environmental legislation and one international agreement: The Underground Storage Tank Compliance Act of 2003, The Clear Skies Act of 2003, the proposed Alien Species International Agreement and the Climate Stewardship Act of 2003. The fall workshop is a management simulation where students take an international agreement or piece of legislation that has not yet been enacted, assume it has become law and develop a plan for implementing the program starting in January of the following year.

The midterm briefings were 10-15 minute talks that communicated the project team's work up to this point in the semester. Above are copies of the power point presentations that the groups developed for their presentations. They will give you an idea of the material we cover in the workshop and the way our students are apporaching the management simulation exercise they are conducting.
